HC Deb 11 May 1939 vol 347 c704W
Mr. Perkins

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that on 1st May an Imperial Airways air liner of advanced design of the Scylla type landed on Heston Airport before the aerodrome had been extended to its full dimensions; and whether he will take immediate steps to enlarge this airport, in order to make it a suitable airport for this type of advanced aircraft?

Captain Balfour

The aerodrome at Heston is more than adequate to meet the requirements of the Scylla type of aircraft. Moreover, as the House will be aware, steps have also been taken to enlarge the aerodrome.
