Mr. LindsayThe return made by the University of Oxford to the University Grants Committee for the academic year 1937–38 showed that, out of a total of 4,048 men and 892 women full-time students, 2,263 men and 420 women held scholarships, exhibitions or other awards providing wholly or in part for the payment of their fees. Figures are not available to show the classification of these awards under the various public, local or other bodies which gave them.
