§ Mr. ButlerNo, Sir. But the Acting Consul-General had an interview with General Homma, the Japanese military232W commander, on 6th March. At this meeting the whole position was reviewed and the latter undertook to discuss the matter with the Japanese Consul-General so that the Consul-General would be in a position to reply. Representations have also been made to the Japanese Government by His Majesty's Ambassador at Tokyo, and it is understood that representations have also been made by the French and United States Ambassadors.
