NEW URBAN DISTRICTS AND BOROUGHS.

Mr. G. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health whether he will give a list of new urban and rural districts which have been formed or will be formed shortly, and those which have been abolished, since his reply to a similar question on 17th February, 1938?

Mr. Elliot

Following are the particulars:

1. (1) A new urban district to be known as Corby will be formed in the administrative County of Northampton as from the 1st April next.
2. (2) The Urban District of Midgley in the administrative County of the West Riding of York will be abolished as from the 1st April next.
3. (3) No rural districts were created or abolished during the period in question.
4. (4) The following urban districts were created municipal boroughs in November, 1938:
   • Chingford.
   • Dagenham.
   • Erith.
   • Kettering.
   • Slough.
   • Tipton.
