HC Deb 02 March 1939 vol 344 c1493W
Mr. Bull

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the scheduling as neutral areas various districts, such as Enfield, in the vicinity of London, despite the fact that they contain very many outstanding objectives for enemy aerial attack, he proposes to intensify in such districts all possible means of ground defence both for maintaining the safety of these objectives and also for the protection of the lives and homes of the residents in these crowded districts?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Ground anti-aircraft defences are sited to give the maximum possible protection to the areas in question.
