§ Mr. Sutcliffeasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will consider the desirability of arranging during the current year for a colonial trade conference to discuss the most effective means by which the marking of Empire commodities could be extended and the markets for British manufactured goods developed in the Colonies?
Mr. M. MacDonaldThere is close and continuous contact between my advisers and Colonial Governments on the one part and Colonial producers on the other. I do not think it necessary to summon a conference such as is suggested by my hon. Friend, especially as the work of the Colonial Marketing Board is steadily developing.
