HC Deb 27 June 1939 vol 349 c228W
Mr. Mainwaring

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state the number of new factories brought into production in England, Wales and Scotland, respectively, each year from and including 1931?

Mr. Stanley

The following statement shows the desired information, so far as it is available from the particulars received in connection with the annual surveys of industrial development. The surveys take account only of factories in which 25 or more people are or have been employed:

available for new undertakings which are not scheduled as Special Areas under the Special Areas Acts, but which are nevertheless suffering from heavy unemployment?

Captain Crookshank

I am not at present in a position to add to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Llanelly on the 13th June.
