§ Sir J. Lucasasked the Minister of Transport whether, in view of the large number of fatal accidents caused by the fact that tail lights on lorries and vans are almost invisible owing to their small size and to their low position on the vehicles, he will consider issuing regulations to increase the size of such lights and to ensure that they are placed in a clearly visible position and to insist on the use of reflectors of a suitable size on a white background?
§ Captain WallaceThe whole question of the lighting of vehicles is receiving further examination in view of the recommendations contained in the report on the 1485W Prevention of Road Accidents made by a Select Committee appointed in another place. The suggestions of my hon. and gallant Friend will be considered in this connection.
