HC Deb 04 July 1939 vol 349 c1142W
Lieut.Commander Fletcher

asked the Prime Minister whether he is aware that the Sirena Company, of Milan, have secured from the Spanish Government a concession for re-floating all merchant vessels sunk in Spanish waters during the civil war; and whether he will immediately make it clear to the Spanish Government that His Majesty's Government expect that all salved British ships shall be placed at the disposal of the owners concerned?

Mr. Butler

My Noble Friend is calling for a report from His Majesty's Ambassador at San Sebastian.
