HC Deb 04 July 1939 vol 349 c1136W
Mr. J. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the large number of parishes in England and Wales without a piped water-supply, and that in the main, they are rural parishes whose rate resources are inadequate to provide such a supply, he will provide financial assistance for this purpose?

Mr. Bernays

My right hon. Friend is afraid that he can at present hold out no prospect of legislation authorising further grants for rural water supply.
