HC Deb 21 February 1939 vol 344 c220W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will investigate the recent decision to discontinue recognition of the winter fishing season in the Western Isles, with a view to taking action, by legislation, if necessary, to have this decision revised, in view of the hardship imposed upon local herring-industry workers?

Mr. E. Brown

The decision to which I assume the hon. Members refers was given by the Umpire and I have no power to revise it.
