HC Deb 14 February 1939 vol 343 c1566W
Mr. Hall-Caine

asked the President of the Board of Trade what has been the recommendation of the Films Council as to the quotas to be imposed for British films during 1940 and 1941; and whether he is yet in a position to state what action he proposes to take in the light of this recommendation?

Mr. Stanley

I have only recently communicated with the Cinematograph Films Council in the matter and some time must necessarily elapse before they can give me their considered opinion.
