§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Labour whether he can give particulars of men engaged from England for tunnelling in the Orkneys; is he aware that men so engaged must pay all travelling expenses by deduction from wages, with a refund only after 12 months' service; how many have been engaged and how many have left within the 12 months; is he aware that many leave within a few days and, in consequence, their families are 1150W refused public assistance; and whether he will take measures to provide temporary homesteads for men and their families engaged for long periods on this work or arrange that labour for such periods is not engaged from England or great distances from the Orkneys?
