HC Deb 02 February 1939 vol 343 cc398-9W
Mr. W. R. Duckworth

asked the Minister of Health whether he can state the number of one-roomed flatlets suitable either for the working class or middle classes which have been built with State subsidy in the last five years?

Mr. Elliot

In the five years ended 31st December last, the erection of some 27,000 subsidised small dwelling-houses, having only one bedroom, was approved. The statistics do not in every case specify the type of dwelling, but it is known that at least 5,600 are flats.
