HC Deb 02 February 1939 vol 343 c398W
Sir R. Glyn

asked the Minister of Health whether it is proposed to make any alteration in the Census form in order that accurate returns will be made to show the number of persons resident in the United Kingdom of overseas extraction, whether from the British Empire or foreign countries, and also the number of persons who belong to various religious denominations?

Mr. Elliot

The programme of inquiries to be included in the 1941 Census has not as yet been taken into consideration. The necessary procedure of obtaining and examining proposals from all sources with a view to the ultimate selection of the final programme is, according to experience, more usefully carried out at a time closer to the actual Census date.
