HC Deb 02 February 1939 vol 343 cc396-7W
Mr. T. Smith

asked the Minister of Agriculture what progress is being made with regard to holidays with pay for farm workers by the various agricultural wages committees?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

Orders have been made by the Agricultural Wages Board in the case of five Agricultural Wages Committees providing for holidays with pay for agricultural workers. Eleven other committees have issued, or are issuing this week, statutory notices of proposals in this respect and five others have decided on the issue of such notices. The majority of the remaining 26 committees have the question of granting holidays with pay under consideration.
