§ Sir J. Lucasasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, in view of the fact that field glasses are part of an officer's equipment and are supposed to be a free issue, he will instruct the Liverpool customs to release the glasses belonging to an officer of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, engraved with his name and initials, which were brought over from Ireland on 27th September by the officer's brother, and on which the customs are demanding £6 duty, failing which, they will sell them; and whether, since no free issue has been made to this officer, he may have his own glasses as soon as possible?
