asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he can supply particulars with regard to the number of superior appointments in the Indian Posts and Telegraphs made on the 1st October, 1937, and the 1st February, 1938; the number of Muslims, Europeans, Indian Christians, Hindus and Sikhs, respectively, appointed; the proportions ordinarily reserved to such communities under the rules; and the reason for variations from the rules?
