asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered the report of the committee of inquiry appointed to examine the request submitted by the Scottish Universities for a grant from the Education (Scotland) Fund; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?

Mr. Wedderburn:

My right hon. Friend is at present considering the report and he hopes to be able to announce a decision at an early date.
