§ Mr. Sutcliffeasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the hardship caused in many cases in Lancashire by reason of the fact that under existing rules a girl, normally earning less than 30s. per week and living with a widowed mother in receipt of an old age pension of 10s. a week cannot, when out of work, obtain any benefit in respect of her 3516W mother, because it is held that she is not wholly or mainly maintaining her; and whether arrangements can be made to modify existing rules in this respect?
