asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many sentences of death have been passed in British Somaliland during the past 10 years; and in how many cases these have been reversed or commuted on appeal?

In the 10-year period 1928–37 inclusive, 30 sentences of death were passed in British Somaliland. Of these three were quashed on appeal and 13 were commuted.
