HC Deb 21 December 1938 vol 342 cc2926-7W
Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will undertake a tour of inspection of the sea and road transport system in the Western Isles this winter, covering especially the second-class and unclassified roads referred to in his correspondence with the hon. Member for the Western Isles; and if he will agree to be accompanied by a deputation of mainland county councillors of Ross and Cromarty and Inverness-shire?

Mr. Burgin

While I am personally familiar with the Western Isles and transport conditions in them, I will, consistently with my other engagements, take a suitable opportunity of paying an early visit of inspection and on such visit will pay special attention to the road connections there.
