HC Deb 21 December 1938 vol 342 c2907W
Mr. Edwards

asked the Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence whether his attention has been drawn to the closing down of steel works on Tees-side; and, as this is contrary to the Government policy for the speeding up of rearmament, what steps he is taking to have these works reopened?

Sir T. Inskip

There is ample production of steel to meet the requirements of the rearmament programme and the second part of the hon. Member's question does not therefore arise
