§ Sir J. Mellorasked the Minister of Transport whether he has considered a communication from the Solihull Urban District Council requesting the reimposition of the speed limit along a section of Route A34 and the extension of the restricted section so as to cover that part of Route A34 which lies between Union Road, Shirley, and Creynolds Lane, Monkspath; and whether he has any statement to make?
§ Mr. BurginI recently considered whether the speed limit should be reimposed on the part of this trunk road in Solihull north of Marshall Lake Road, but came to the conclusion that it should not. I think that accidents on this section might be reduced by the improvement of some of the junctions and other remedial measures which are being put in hand. As a result of the representations made by the Solihull Urban District Council I am calling for a report on the other section of the road.
