HC Deb 21 December 1938 vol 342 cc2924-5W
Mrs. Adamson

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has now approved of the scheme of road-widening East Hill on the Dover—London road; and, if so, to what extent the scheme will qualify for grant under the Road Fund?

Mr. Burgin

I understand that a scheme for widening East Hill from Darenth Road for 250 yards eastwards at an estimated cost of £12,800 is being considered by the Dartford Town Council. Before any application for a grant can be entertained the approval of the Kent County Council will be required. If a grant were made the rate would be 50 per cent. of the approved cost.
