HC Deb 14 April 1938 vol 334 c1332W
Sir W. Jenkins

asked the Minister of Labour whether any steps are being taken by the Commissioner for Special Areas to close the school camp at Pembrey, where 350 children from distressed areas are taken fortnightly for health purposes; if so, for what purpose; and is he making any arrangement for them in any other place to meet the needs of affected children?

Mr. E. Brown

The site of the school camp at Pembrey has been acquired by the War Office for defence purposes, and as a consequence the school camp is being closed not later than the end of June. In view of the short time available, it has not been possible to make arrangements for the provision of another camp to provide for the children who would, in the normal course, have been sent to Pembrey during the remainder of the season.
