HC Deb 14 April 1938 vol 334 cc1321-2W
Mr. Chater

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that certain district registrars are still charging a fee of 2s. 7d. to members of registered friendly societies for copies of each certificate of death issued to them, when they are entitled to pay only 1s.; and what steps he will take to ensure that the proper fee only is charged?

Sir K. Wood

No, Sir. I believe that the provisions of the law as to the issue of certain certificates at a special fee are properly observed, if any indication is given by the applicant that such a certificate is required. If the hon. Member will let me have particulars of any case he has in mind, I will make inquiries and communicate with him further.
