HC Deb 16 November 1937 vol 329 cc237-8W
Sir P. Hurd

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that 1,400 British ex-army horses are recorded as being still at work in France and Flanders, many of them being very old, emaciated, lame and blind; and whether he will give effective support to the rescue work now in progress through private agencies?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

If I were able to furnish any information which would assist private agencies to identify with certainty any old war horses in France and Flanders which may be still alive, I would gladly give it.
