Mr. Short

asked the Secretary for Mines (1) the total British export of coal for the last eight months; and whether the figure shows an increase over a similar period for 1933;

(2) whether he has any information as to the total export of coal by Germany for the last eight months; and whether the figures show an increase over a similar period for 1933?

Monthly Saar export figures are not available, but Saar exports to countries other than Germany during the year 2933, amounted to 4,729,741 tons and German exports to the Saar to 150,932 tons.
