HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1154W
Sir T. Moore

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps he proposes to take with regard to the report of the Mui-Tsai Commission?

Mr. Ormsby-Gore

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to my reply to a question yesterday by the hon. and gallant Member for Nuneaton (Lieut.-Commander Fletcher) as far as concerns the present position of the Colonial Governments in this matter. In any decisions which I reach on a problem of this sort, I shall regard it as of great importance to secure the effective co-operation of the local governments and communities concerned.
