HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1143W
Mr. H. G. Williams

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the views of the Import Duties Advisory Committee on the fabric glove industry contained in the report, Cmd. 4156 of September, 1932, and the report, Cmd. 4303 of April, 1933, contains all the reasons on which the Import Duties Advisory Committee rejected the application made in 1937; and if he is aware that the present system of German export subsidy was introduced after April, 1933?

Captain Wallace

I am not in a position to say what were the reasons which led to the rejection of the application made in 1937, but I have no doubt that the Import Duties Advisory Committee took all the facts of the current situation into account before reaching their decision.
