HC Deb 04 November 1937 vol 328 c1143W
Captain P. Macdonald

asked the President of the Board of Trade what was the quantity of skimmed and condensed milk imported into this country during this year; and what was the amount in 1936 and from what countries this milk came?

Captain Wallace

During the year 1936, imports into the United Kingdom of condensed milk, separated or skimmed, amounted to 1,363,000 cwts. The corresponding figure for the period January to September, 1937, was 864,000 cwts. More than four-fifths of these imports came from the Netherlands and the remainder was consigned almost entirely from Denmark and the Irish Free State.
