HC Deb 03 November 1937 vol 328 cc933-4W
Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Transport whether work has started on any contracts and, if so, where and what progress has been made in connection with the electrification of the London and North Eastern line from Liverpool Street to Shenfield?

Mr. Burgin

Yes, Sir. I am informed by the London and North Eastern Railway Company that preliminary work has been started between Bow Junction and Stratford and at Stratford and Goodmayes and that substantial contracts have been invited in connection with other portions of the scheme.
