HC Deb 03 November 1937 vol 328 c939W
Mr. De la Bère

asked the Minister of Health what steps the Government are proposing to take to augment the amenities in cottages available for the agricultural labourer?

Mr. Price

asked the Minister of Health whether he will take steps to assist local authorities in rural areas whereby they will be able to provide cottages for agricultural workers at rents within their capacity to pay?

Mr. Bernays

I would refer to the reply given on 28th October to my hon. Friends the Members for St. Albans (Sir F. Fremantle) and Evesham (Mr. De la Bère). The question of the steps to be taken to secure the improvement of existing accommodation is also discussed in the report of the Central Housing Advisory Committee which has recently been published and is receiving my right hon. Friend's consideration.
