The following table shows the number of boys and girls aged 14 to 18 and the number of men and women over 18 transferred by the Department from Durham County during 1932 and subsequent years.

Apart from aliens employed in connection with the erection of new machinery and buildings, or in managerial, technical or specialist posts, II aliens are employed under permission to instruct British work-people in special industrial methods. These aliens have been employed for periods varying from a few weeks to some 3 years and 4 months, the average length of time being some 18 months. In nine cases, the current permission in respect of these aliens expires on 31st December, 1937, and in the other two cases, in February and October, 1938, respectively.
