3089W
Public Service Vehicle Licences. Year. Issued to London Passenger Transport Board. Issued to other operators. 1934 6,103 2,231 1935 6,246 2,251 1936 6,601 2,316 Applications for licences have to be made in the area from which the vehicles are ordinarily to be operated. It does not follow, therefore, that the above vehicles are all engaged on services mainly within the Metropolitan Traffic Area. In addition, vehicles licensed in other Traffic Areas may be employed on services running into or through the Metropolitan Traffic Area.
The Metropolitan Traffic Area is larger than, but includes the whole of, the London Traffic Area.
