HC Deb 25 March 1937 vol 321 cc3092-3W
Mr. Sexton

asked the Secretary for Mines whether, in the interest of the nation, especially in time of war, he will secure that low-temperature carbonisation oil from coal is further produced in this country, such production to be instituted in the Special Areas by the Government?

Captain Crookshank

In their consideration of the possibility of securing a further development of the production of oil from coal and other indigenous materials the Government will have regard to all known processes.
