§ Lieut.-Colonel ColvilleThe following table gives the information asked for:
general conditions of employment in the retail trade?
§ Sir J. SimonConditions of employment in the retail trades are already regulated in large measure under the Shops Acts, 1912 to 1936. So far as the Home Office is concerned no further legislation is at present in prospect; but if my hon. and gallant Friend has in mind certain discussions which are taking place on the question of further regulation of wages and other working conditions in the retail trades, I would suggest that he should address his question to my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour.
