HC Deb 24 March 1937 vol 321 c2925W
Mr. Grant-Ferris

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether the attention of his Department has been called to the activities of certain aircraft engaged in advertisement work, namely, the towing of advertisement streamers in the vicinity of His Majesty's Law Courts and the Temple; whether he is aware that such aircraft often fly at such a low altitude as to be incompatible with public safety and a source of disturbance to members of the learned profession at their labours; and whether he will take steps to restrict this practice?

Sir P. Sassoon

I am not aware that there has been any such flying as would constitute an infringement of the regulations governing flying over a city or town. In any case, the enforcement of the regulations is a matter for the police, but it is understood that they have observed no cases of dangerously low flying over the places mentioned, and have received no complaints.
