asked the Home Secretary how many appeals were made to the London Sessions Appeals Committee in 1936 by motorists against convictions for driving under the influence of drink and dangerous driving, respectively; in how many cases the conviction was upheld; in how many cases it was reduced; and in how many cases it was increased?

The figures for the years 1931, 1932 and 1933 relate to children and young persons according to the definitions in Section 131 of the Children Act, 1908, namely, under the age of 16; those for 1934 and 1935 relate to children and young persons according to the definitions in Section 107 (1) of the Children and Young Persons Act, 1933, namely, under the age of 17. The figures for the year 1936 are not yet available.
