HC Deb 08 March 1937 vol 321 cc805-6W
Mr. Rostron Duckworth

asked the Minister of Health how many times the Central Housing Committee has met within the last 12 months; what decisions they have reached; what representations they have made to his Department; and to which of their recommendations any practical effect has been given?

Sir K. Wood

The Central Housing Advisory Committee has met four times during the last 12 months, but the three standing sub-committees which it has appointed have met much more frequently. The committee's function is to advise me on general housing questions, the proceedings are held in private, and I do not contemplate that in general there will be any public report of the committee's activities. In special circumstances, as in the case of the recent report of the Rural Housing Sub-Committee, a report on a particular aspect of housing may be published.
