HC Deb 29 June 1937 vol 325 c1808W
Mr. T. Morris

asked the Home Secretary whether it is proposed to take any steps, and, if so, of what nature, to obtain the co-operation of the coastguard service in connection with the giving of air raid warnings?

Mr. Lloyd

I assume that the reference is to the value of the coastguard service for observing approaching raiders, rather than in connection with the dissemination of public warnings. As regards the former, arrangements are in existence to use, where necessary, the facilities available at coastguard stations as part of, or to supplement, the Observer System.
