HC Deb 16 February 1937 vol 320 cc1012-3W
Major Braithwaite

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the fact that the recreation room in Barmston Village, East Yorkshire, has been scheduled for demolition; and, as this is the only meeting room for this purpose in this village, will he reconsider his decision in order to preserve the amenities of the village life?

Mr. Hudson

The recreation room referred to is presumably one of the properties described as dwellings which have been included in the Barmston No. 1 Clearance Order made by the Rural District Council and submitted for the consideration of my right hon. Friend. My right hon. Friend has given no decision on the order yet and before doing so will direct one of his Inspectors to hold a public local inquiry and will give most careful consideration to all the relevant facts.
