HC Deb 16 February 1937 vol 320 c1014W
Captain Macnamara

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that British troops in India have in some cases had to pay for wood in order to provide themselves with hot water; and whether he will ask the Indian Government to investigate the matter so as to make a start at bringing the conditions of British soldiers in India into line with those at home?

Mr. Butler

I have no details regarding this matter. If my hon. and gallant Friend will give me particulars I will make inquiries.
