HC Deb 16 December 1937 vol 330 cc1361-2W
Mr. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for War the number of recruits who joined Scottish Regular and Territorial units, respectively, during the last three months; and whether these figures show an increase over the same period last year?

Sir V. Warrender

During the period 1st September to 30th November last, 670 recruits for the Regular Army joined Scottish regiments, being an increase of 212, or about 46 per cent., on the figure for the corresponding period last year. The number of enlistments in the Territorial Army units within the Scottish Command in the same three months of this year was 594, being an increase of 121, or about 26 per cent.
