§ Sir K. WoodInvestigations by the Royal Commission on Sewage Disposal show that any sewage discharged is rapidly rendered innocous in the sea. Sewage is so discharged by many towns but before approving schemes my Department require tidal observations to be made to ensure that the outfall is placed where the sewage will be carried out to sea and not returned to the beaches.
