Mr. Kennedy

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether any Scotsmen have acted during 1937 as examiners of graduates seeking appointment to the junior administrative grade of the Civil Service?

The total number of examiners of candidates for appointment to the junior administrative grade of the Civil Service in 1937 was 101. Of these, according to the information available, 17 are of Scottish birth or education or both. Two others are Professors at Scottish Universities, but not of Scottish birth or education.

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he can state the number of graduates examined and the number appointed to the junior administrative grade of the Civil Service during 1936 and 1937, giving the numbers examined and appointed from Oxford, Cambridge, and Scottish Universities, respectively?
