HC Deb 15 April 1937 vol 322 cc1203-4W
Mr. Acland

asked the Home Secretary whether he has considered the introduction of legislation dealing with the use of motor cars at elections, the provision of additional polling stations, and other matters dealing with contested Parliamentary elections?

Sir J. Simon

I am not in a position to make any statement about legislation on these subjects. As regards polling stations careful provision is made in Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, and I have no information to suggest that this provision has proved unsatisfactory.
