Captain CAZALETasked the Minister for Health whether his attention has been drawn to the case of Mr. W. Hatherell, of 7, Ivy Cottage, Chippenham, who had been receiving a blind pension from September, 1930, up to October last, on which date he became eligible for the old age pension but lost his blind pension; and whether the Minister will inquire into his case?
§ Mr. W. S. MORRISONI have had inquiry made into the case. Under the law a person cannot continue to draw a blind pension and a pension under the Old Age Pensions Acts after attaining 1413W the age of 70, and the blind pension previously paid to Mr. Hatherell was accordingly withdrawn as from 21st October, 1935, when he attained the age of 70.
