HC Deb 02 March 1936 vol 309 c1011W
Marquess of CLYDESDALE

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the case of James Barclay, 13, Spring hill Road, Barrhead, who is in receipt of £22 3s. 4d. per annum as part owner of his house and 18s. per week assistance from the Unemployment Assistance Board, and whose daughter has been obliged to leave home owing to the application of the means test, despite the undertaking of the Government not to break up homes by the application thereof; and whether he will inquire into this case?

Lieut.-Colonel MUIRHEAD

My right hon. Friend has referred the matter to the board and will write to my Noble Friend.
